The first teaser trailer for the upcoming documentary on Amy Winehouse has been released and focuses on the singer’s personal struggle with fame. Amy includes footage from Winehouse’s pre-fame days, back when she had mild aspirations be become a musician.
In the trailer, Winehouse talks about the importance of singing in her life and how lucky she felt knowing she could be a singer someday. When asked about fame, Winehouse delivers a chilling foreshadow, saying “I don’t think I’m going to be at all famous. I don’t think I could handle it, I would probably go mad.”
Amy is directed by Asif Kapadia, who directed the 2010 biopic Senna. The film is slated to be released in the UK on July 3 and will hopefully hit North America this summer.
