11:11, Arkells
The latest video from Arkells may feature the fewest lyrics we’ve ever not seen in a lyric video, but we don’t care. The catchy pop track is a sweet song about finding love in a bar. With lines like “You made a wish at 11:11 / I held your hips at 12:34 / There was a kiss just waiting to happen”, the Canadian band has managed to make the musical equivalent of a John Hughes film in four minutes.
Oblivion, Bastille
After the huge success of their break out single Pompeii, Bastille are back with their follow-up in the form on a beautifully melancholic Oblivion. The self-aware track has a brand new music video that features Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner as a demolition derby performer.
I’m Not The Only One, Sam Smith
In the year 2014, UK singer Sam Smith can do no wrong. Catapulting onto the global stage with his incredible debut album, Smith has just announced I’m Not The Only One as his next single. Here’s the least shocking spoiler ever: the song is amazing.
Do It Again, Röyksopp & Robyn
Röyksopp and Robyn have released a video for the title track from their mini-album and it’s much more of a short film than a music video. Directed by Martin de Thurah, Do It Again is an abstract look at love and struggle in an undefined time and place that has been affected by war. It’s definitely worth a few viewings to try to uncover what exactly is happening the cinematic piece.
