Demi Lovato Is Coming For That Grammy With Preview Of ‘Stone Cold’

Demi Lovato is coming for that Grammy nomination and she’s pulling out all the stops. The successful singer/songwriter already has a long list of accolades to her name, including music label owner, MMVA and MTV Video Music Award winner, actress, activist and former child star who has managed to have a career as an adult. That last title is a long one.

One title that has so far escaped Lovato is ‘Grammy winner’. But with Demi, she’s cool with just being a nominee.

During her recent interview for the cover story of Complex Mag (holy fruit), Demi more than expressed her desire to score a Grammy nomination for her upcoming fifth studio album Confident, due out October 16.

On her song Stone Cold off Confident, Demi sasy “I want the Grammy committee to hear [that song] so that one day they can see that—I know that I’m capable of getting there. I just want people to see it finally. When I say getting there, I don’t mean winning one. I just want to be nominated for one. You can’t go higher than the Grammys in the music industry. That was a huge goal for this album. I watched the Grammy nominations last year and I was like, “I want to be there so bad.” It really gave me that kick in the ass to make music that was worthy of it. This is a song that I feel like is worthy of notification.”

Describing the Grammy Awards as the Olympics of music, Lovato says that just having your name associated with the Grammys will be enough to make her feel like the years of hard work have paid off.

Lovato is now in full promo-mode for Confident, which for Demi means a scavenger hunt for fans resulting in previews of songs from the album. With Stone Cold as her first preview posted on Instagram this week, we think it’s pretty safe to say that this track is Grammy worth. Slay, Demi, slay!
