With every new album, rockers Hedley get closer and closer to a total pop music crossover. The BC foursome, comprised of Jacob Hoggard, Chris Crippin, Tommy Mac and Dave Rosin, continue to evolve with their sound and their latest album, 2015’s Hello, is another step towards taking chances in the studio and watching them pay off.
Following Lost In Translation and the title track Hello, Hedley have now released their third single from the album with Lose Control.
Making their own version of Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, the band is flanked by a group of professional female dancers who show off their ballet moves and impressive flexibility, sometimes even using Hedley members as props. Aside from lead singer and all-around showman Jacob Hoggard, the rest of the band look understandably uncomfortable for some of these shots, which include dancers using them as tables. Hoggard takes the lead as usual in the video and looks at home performing with the pros, while the band find their safe space in performance clips.
Hedley are up for Group of the Year and Pop Album of the Year for Hello at this year’s JUNO Awards. Watch the 2016 JUNO Awards hosted by Jon Montgomery and Jann Arden on Sunday, April 3 at 7 pm ET on CTV and CTV GO.
