The 2014 Juno Awards were all about huge performances and even bigger wins. Co-hosts Serena Ryder and Classified kicked off the 43rd annual Juno Awards in Winnipeg with a mash-up of their hit songs What I Wouldn’t Do and Three Feet Tall. The duo were then joined by their third co-host Johnny Reid, welcoming fans to one of the biggest nights in Canadian music.
Performers Tegan and Sara scored monumental wins for Group of the Year and Single Of The Year for Closer, which the duo performed with Choir Choir Choir. Co-host Serena Ryder’s night got even better after her opening performance, performing again on her own and winning Songwriter of the Year.
A Tribe Called Red, who performed during last night’s Juno Gala, walked home with the award for Breakthrough Group of the Year. Album of the Year went to Arcade Fire, who performed in a pre-taped segment for the live show.
The incredible night was capped off with an all-star tribute to Bachman Turner Overdrive, who performed Takin’ Care of Business with The Sheepdogs, The Sadies, Tim Hicks and Matt Mays.
