Nick Jonas is a man of his word. The former Jonas Brother member just announced his sophomore solo album Last Year Was Complicated and added he would be celebrating with the first single today.
Right on schedule, Jonas released the single and video this morning for Close, a collaboration with Swedish pop singer Tove Lo. The slowed down, sexy steel drum R&B track features an even sexier video. Jonas and Lo quickly lose their post-apocalyptic YA movie costumes to be free to roll around on an oily floor in their underwear in a contemporary dance routine.
According to Jonas, the duo’s chemistry was felt by its stars as well.
This music video tomorrow is gonna require a few cold showers afterwords… @ToveLo

Jonas posted a series of tweets about the new album, saying “When I first started making I thought I knew what it would be about…Then I had a break up. It then became very clear what this thing would be about…And that I would really need to dig deep. Shit is too real sometimes… Reliving some of these real experiences through this music is hard. But I know it’s important that I do it. I want to be an open book in my art.”
Nick specifically commented on Close, posting this tweet.
The first song you're gonna hear tomorrow night is about how I literally can't open up and be vulnerable with someone..

Jonas also released the full tracking listing for Last Year Was Complicated, which includes Chainsaw, Touch, Voodoo, Champagne Problems, Good Girls, The Difference and more. In addition to Tove Lo, the new album, which is set to be released on June 10, will also feature Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, and basketball legend Allen Iverson. That one should be interesting.
