Rewinding To The Best Retro Looks From The Grammys Red Carpet

The Grammys red carpet is one of my favourite red carpets because it’s one of the few where people are willing to step out, take fashion risks and have fun. These days, I often find myself holding my breath for someone to come out and make a wild, unforgettable statement on the carpet but it rarely happens. In the times before stylists and designers ruled the mainstream, musicians were still expressing themselves authentically and freely and seemed more open to fashion experimentation for better or for worse. The marriage between fashion and music has existed since the beginning, so this week I picked my favourite retro Grammy looks of all time. Side note: I would still wear the majority of these today.

Tune in this Sunday at 8E/5P to #Retro30 where style icon, fellow Canadian and Editor-in-Chief of Yahoo Style Joe Zee (who was in town to host the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards) sat down with me to deconstruct some of the iconic style moments from The 1996 Grammy Awards Red Carpet.
